Y'all can't be serious. Yes, Akademiks has been open about getting paid to post an artist's releases for at least the past eight years. It's an entire business model. That's what media is. That is completely different from Akademiks being paid to co-sign and say something is good or bad. As far as we know, he has never taken money to say that some artist's music is good or bad. The closest he got was doing a favor or taking money from P of QC, the label, to hold back giving his opinion on Lil Baby's album for a couple of weeks. And Lil Baby is somebody that he has personal issues with, that has led to him being attacked in person, which can you blame the guy?

But with the hype came extra scrutiny on a league that was clearly unprepared for the big time, and more interested in identity politics than in growth. Before, the story was about a generational talent. Now it's becoming about a generational fumble. I've never seen anything like it.
