Before and after Bob McNair was awarded his expansion franchise, he told me on multiple occasions how he wanted his team to be called the Texans. He wanted the Texans to forge their own identity, build their own legacy and create their own history. He wasn't interested in the Oilers' name or colors because those belonged to Bud Adams and his family.

So by Texan's fans logic, I can create an expansion team in Oakland today and claim the Raiders history as my own.
