@JennaACunninham @LukaszukAB Where’s your evidence that it works? The more harm reduction is pushed, drug use increases, OD’s increase, crime increases.

@LukaszukAB Yeah, it would. Harm reduction. Saves lives and keeps communities safer. The resistance isn’t evidence based.

Kingsway McDonald’s bathroom, 1 guy shooting up and 2 smoking crack. Needle and tin foil in a sink. Staff can’t get them out. I ask “Why do it here?” Politely, one says “Where can we do it?” Business and clients suffer. Wouldn’t a safe injection clinic make sense? #ableg #Yeg

@maxfawcett If the goal is to reduce global emissions why did the authors of the Paris Agmt decide to punish countries for exports that replace dirtier fuels and not reward them? If you’re concerned about the climate why do you defend a scheme that appears to slow global GHG reductions?

And the credit for said emissions reductions would belong to China, which would mean we'd still need to do our part to reduce *our* emissions (which would have grown as a result of the increased gas production/exports). THERE. ARE. NO. FREE. LUNCHES.

@maxfawcett Why would BC get most of the credits if AB produces almost twice as much NG than BC and only uses half of it in the province? Wouldn’t AB export about the same amount as BC if BC exports 100% of its production?

As I've said before, it would be incredibly funny if Alberta threw its weight behind this and BC ended up getting most of the emissions credits from LNG (because most of the gas comes from BC). It won't happen because this idea is a free lunch wrapped in a pipe dream, but....

@maxfawcett Destigmatizing and normalizing opioid use has been great for society. Only an ideologue would promote providing addicts with opioids that they can take in uncontrolled settings which are marketed as safe as a benefit to society.

@maxfawcett You’re also using a single month of data to state something isn’t working while ignoring 3 years of data that doesn’t look good for safe supply. You look pretty ideologically motivated.

@UbakaOgbogu They probably ask that because there’s lots of neurotic people who call ambulances for non emergencies that tie up resources.

@maxfawcett A good start would be for urban progressives to stop trying to force their collectivist culture on people who don’t want any part of it.

@UbakaOgbogu Won’t capping power bills and auto insurance just shift the accountability of dangerous driving and wasteful use of energy from the individual to the taxpayers?

@maxfawcett The difference is the NDP have socialist roots, identify as democratic socialist and promote socialist principles. The UCP doesn’t have anything to do with fascism. Only one of those is rhetorical inflammation.

You can criticize the NDP without yelling "socialist!", just as you can criticize the UCP without yelling "fascist!" We desperately need to eliminate this sort of rhetorical inflation from our political discourse. It's an American import and it's hurting all of us.

@gilmcgowan People should be able to work in any industry they choose without their labour being used to fund a political party and movement they may not be aligned with.

The UCP didn’t even bother to respond to questions from the Building Trades of Alberta. The NDP has pro-worker positions on job creation, training and pensions. They’ve also promised to axe the union-busting practice of double-breasting. But the UCP? Nada. No respect for workers.

@maxfawcett Can you please provide some examples of how the NDP are better for the economy? Their previous record proves otherwise. Increasing taxes and expanding labour regulations seems to drive away investment and decrease productivity. What am I missing?

@maxfawcett If there’s such an economic upside why are the countries which are increasing their emissions increasing their share of GDP while the one’s cutting their emissions are decreasing their share? Jinping and Putin must love people like you.

@CourtEllingson The only reason it increased was because projects that began under the PC’s came online during the NDP’s term. Production didn’t increase during the UCP’s term because investment was down under the NDP and it takes years for these projects to be built.

There's politicians out there "fearing and smearing." Fact check: Alberta's total oil production increased 34% over the Alberta NDP's term, and 12% over the UCP's term. The Alberta NDP is building a future that includes oil and gas and grows opportunities in other sectors.

@maxfawcett Sask spent less under the NDP because no one would invest in the province. Under the NDP (91 to 07) they received equalization every year but one, since the Sask Party came in they’ve been a have party every year. Having to rely on others to support you isn’t sound economics.

@maxfawcett You only seem interested in connecting half the dots. If the NDP are such great managers of the economy why was Alberta’s GDP growth below Texas and our unemployment double during the recession?
