For those that know me on a more personal level, they know how much the act of photography has been instrumental in keeping me sane. During my burn out it pained me that the thing that I couldnt do it I can't put into words how good it feels to be back to creating.

How it started. How it’s going.

Last night I watched a good video about the overvisitation of the USA's big national parks, driven by big budget tourism campaigns and social media. The crux of the issue? "Today an increasing number of people are going outside not to get lost or to explore, but to be seen."

@cathsimard_ Yeah trees are an absolute nightmare. I've had luck with using the background eraser tool to refine a mask further but you inevitably have to clean up the stupid little bits

Quick example of what masking a tree for 40-50 hours looks like. Music mandatory.

@ChayPhotography @cathsimard_ Regulations must start with the expedition companies. There have been numerous situations where climbers have to be taught on the mountain how to put on crampons, how to use the ropes and have never been on a mountain because some expedition companies will allow anyone (cont.)

As someone who plans on climbing Everest some day, this is sad.

@ChayPhotography Doing ok. I’m not going to lie tho …. it’s been hard. She was a good person. Always put herself out for me and I enjoyed her so much. Will be a bit different going south this winter and not seeing her. I am glad tho that she is at peace now. She fought a tough battle

It’s been a hell few weeks. My beautiful friend Victoria Bowman lost her battle with cancer. She was only 46. This is the very last photo she took. I had it framed. Vic will be remembered forever through her photography. Live life and love like there’s no tomorrow ❤️

1/ as we experience solar max and an increased chance of aurora viewing for more of the population, I hope it widens the conversation on dark sky preservation. I’m sure many people who attempted to view the northern lights at the weekend had a tough time due to light pollution

Back again to stick this one up for people to see. Had a weekend of killer skies, super exciting stuff. Aurora, Milky Way, some cool galaxies... all that you want in astrophotography. Hope you enjoy this one 🙂
