Until recently, there was little criticism of actor Timothée Chalamet. So, this year, when he finally slipped up just before the Oscars, fans and haters alike were uproarious. His gaffe is less about what he actually said and more about an ongoing issue that mainstream A-listers seem to have of overstaying their welcome in the spotlight and basking in the glow of acclaim until the tide turns on them... cheezburger.com/44761349/timot…

There is nothing wrong with pushing the boundaries of #ASMR content as an art form. Some of the ways in which this has gained the attention of the mainstream are a fun addition to internet culture. That said, its idiosyncrasies make it susceptible to being something that creates more waste and helps fewer people. It is no coincidence that ASMR-style videos are a favorite of AI creators seeking a low-effort way to generate engagement and contribute to the barrage of slop content... cheezburger.com/38604295/the-o… @perryally5

#Dune3 is so back, but will they reveal another grotesque popcorn bucket to release alongside the new movie? If not, count me out. Popcorn buckets may not be the only allure of going to the movies these days, but they certainly are a part of the experience. Novelty aside, AMC and Cinemax have some creative (or twisted) individuals designing these limited-edition, popcorn-slinging vessels. Desperate times call for desperately devilish popcorn buckets. cheezburger.com/38564615/cinem… @JesKessenheimer

Have our beloved pop stars lost sight of the culture? Harry Styles’ new dance-pop record, 'Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally' is not hitting the zeitgeist in the way that his previous records did. And this wouldn’t be the first time in recent memory that a major pop star’s highly anticipated new album failed to meet the cultural moment. cheezburger.com/44684549/surpr… @benweissONE

In a world filled with nepotism, social media can be a powerful tool for making dreams come true, and should be celebrated a lot more. Brittany Broski interviewing Harry Styles, Alex Warren being nominated and performing at the Grammys, and Dylan Mulvaney making her Broadway debut all happened simply because they decided to post on social media one day. Why is that a bad thing? cheezburger.com/38439175/in-a-… @BarHazut

Picture this: it’s 2007, and the internet is a place. It’s somewhere you go when you get home from school. You fire up the family computer, open a window to, let’s say, a fan page for Blink-182. Everything you need is there. It was finite. There were a few pages of good content, and it didn’t go on forever. You knew when you had seen everything you needed to see, and you would log off, free to enjoy the rest of your day in real life. This is what the online experience used to feel like. And we miss it... cheezburger.com/38416391/the-i… @Jratkinson6

If #Oscars were given based on merit alone, they wouldn’t be the awards ceremony we all know and love. If you love underdog Oscars and newcomer Oscars and Meryl Streep Oscars and Historic First Oscars, you can learn to love Career Oscars for all of their flaws. cheezburger.com/38405639/caree… @gimmiemmy

The online arena is no stranger to trolls and ragebait, but could y’all keep it out of the marketing sphere? Ragebait ads have tainted the modern marketing scene and, as we’ve seen with #Amazon’s #GodofWar BTS photo release, audience reception has not only been negative but lingeringly disappointing, poisoning the entire franchise. In an increasingly negative world, that’s not the kind of hype that audiences want anymore… Do better! cheezburger.com/38383111/is-al… @JesKessenheimer

'Your AI Slop Bores Me' is a website made in response to AI taking people's jobs. Now, you can steal an AI's job right back! The meme-able site scorns AI and celebrates people’s imperfections, declaring that, “humans make mistakes because that's what makes us human.” So, let's rescue the online experience! cheezburger.com/44634373/your-… #youraislopboresme

#LoveisBlind fell off because they got greedy. Back in the day, they claimed to be better than all the other reality television dating shows, but now, they pale in comparison. Lacking an emotionally competent cast, Love is Blind lacks the drama of reality TV but the genuineness they once boasted, leaving them with nothing left to show for their 10 seasons on the air. cheezburger.com/38224391/love-… @JesKessenheimer

Contemporary meme culture's obsession with being cool has condemned it to becoming a paradox. Aura farming, mogging people, and generally identifying as the main character has made memes a collective practice of a hyper-individualist mindset. Even if much of it is supposed to be ironic, these "special individuals" are always finding different ways to look down on the majority. cheezburger.com/38222855/im-a-… @perryally5

#Oscars campaigning requires a delicate balance between shameless self-promotion and humility. It’s a counterintuitive tightrope to walk. You have to want it enough to stay in the race but not too much to torpedo your chances. In this final stretch of awards season, the contenders who have emerged as frontrunners in the acting categories are not the ones who have been campaigning the loudest. Rather, the likely winners on March 15th are the nominees who opted for a softer approach on the campaign trail. cheezburger.com/38219271/quiet… @benweissONE

In a world that already feels so unstable, there’s something reassuring about a safe love story with a satisfying ending. Not every piece of media needs to shock the audience. Some of us just want a classic slow burn, with grand gestures, and the reassurance that love can still win against all odds, even if it’s just on screen. Brands have to pick a side: Show off their products with the use of AI, or invest in human artists to do the job. Like it or not, Gucci and other brands that use AI are taking a stance. They’re picking a side in the growing choice to use AI-generated materials. Sure, using AI may feel like a hip, techno-savvy thing to do for brands right now, but the implications are unflattering. cheezburger.com/38084871/ai-cu…

#AlysaLiu, is more than just another Californian legend, she’s the two-time Olympic gold medalist and American alt-princess who’s inspiring kids to get smiley piercings, bleach their hair, and pursue their most gratifying passions regardless of the outcome. Making hobbies fun again, Liu reminds people why they started their stupid side hustle in the first place. cheezburger.com/38024711/alysa… @JesKessenheimer

If we coast through life on cruise control, then we might miss the attractions along the way. In the effort to make everything easier, we have lost some important details... It is the small "difficult" moments that are the reasons we’re all here on this planet. Technology can facilitate them, but it’s just as good at taking them away. cheezburger.com/38024455/over-… @Jratkinson6
