Lots of positives to take away. Ibanez fantastic - should there be a platoon with McNeil? Rooker and Kurtz need to move further down in the lineup. While the bullpen held them scoreless they sure were shaky with tons of walks and pitching from behind way too much. But a win is a win.

@ChefDub30 He just didn't have many competitive misses. It felt like almost every AB in that first inning had him missing the zone by at least a foot. Not sustainable.

@AthleticsRants Other than Butler and Sodi I’ve seen no one trying to hit to the opposite field. Hit it where it’s pitched. Wilson rolling over ground ball double plays, everyone swinging at balls in the dirt, trying to hit HRs instead of putting it in play.

Too much talent in the A’s lineup to be striking out this much and have so little production. Figure it out.

Great perspective on Mason Miller trade: The wins that the A’s are missing out on by not having Mason Miller in 2026 will be made up for in 2028 when Leo De Vries, Braden Nett, and Henry Baez should be apart of the major league roster. Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but the plan is in place to have a damn good, World Series contending team when the stadium opens in Vegas in 2028.

I get that the A’s offense scored 7 runs today, but most of it came on three flukey infield hits and a grand slam from the only guy hitting the ball so far. Not a 7 run performance that makes me feel great. We all know about the strikeouts too.

Denzel Clarke’s defensive presence is unmatched, but how long will the A’s be willing to keep his unreliable bat in the order before pulling the plug is the question?
