Basketball and betting on basketball is all just variance, more than any other sport and it’s not particularly close Game bets simply just shooting variance. PTS O/U simply just variance, only edge is volume. REB bets oREB variance, reverse shooting variance and where exactly on the rim the ball bounces AST bet variance, whether or not the pAST data is above/below average conversions and goes back to shooting variance. Football has absolutely 0 variance, NHL/MLB/Soccer some variance but significantly <. Only sport where literally every prop bet/game bet is contingent on an angle (shooting variance) which is considerably more volatile relevant to its prominence/frequency than any other aspect of any other sport and it’s not even close

I believe in variance/luck regression to the mean, but realistically should be sitting at the +125u mark but here we are unfortunately. All time season regardless, but feels tarnished by one of the worst runs of variance I’ve had in my 2-3 years of doing this

I will be betting on Tari Eason U 1.5 3PTM who is under in 10/10 & 2-33 from 3 over his L10. Difficult matchup also. Putting this out here as an anecdotal example of the run of variance, hooks, luck the last 2 weeks. I will be betting his under, but I can almost guarantee he will go over shooting 2/2 from 3. NBA YTD: +112.14u @ 31.87% ROI, but 14 of the last 16 losses in the NBA on the hook and the intangible way the bets are losing is even worse than the unlucky face value. Consistent bad oREB variance on U REB/70%+ conversion from pAST to AST on U AST bets/everything hooking in the last couple mins

Imariagabe was 1-6 from 3 on the season and hadn’t taken a 3PTA for 22 straight games. Not a singlular attempt from 3 for 22 straight games. He is 3-5 from 3 in the 1H. You genuinely can’t make this up, 3+ 3PTM in the game for him would have probably been priced at +40,000. 2-1 to start the slate, but should have been 3-0 and one of the most unserious things I’ve ever seen in my 2-3 years capping this sport. 22 straight games without a single attempts & he had 3 made on 5 attempt in the 1H.
