Learning about what fills our plates and there is so much fun stuff to know🤓 For example, did you know that peas and asparagus contain vitamin K which helps blood clotting (scraped knees anyone?) and vitamin Bs which help regulate energy levels and keep stress at bay! #learning

Edible flowers (such as Violas and Marigolds) are loaded with antioxidants! They are a great way to bring colour and nutrients to a dish, and they make cooking fun! 🌸🌼

Did you know that Canada’s first food guide was introduced in 1942? It was made to help Canadians ration their food and prevent nutritional deficiencies during WWII. Now it’s an Eating Well Guide, with alternatives and options, so everyone can find something that works for them!

Today was out last day in the classrooms and it was all about fruit. You can't live in the Okanagan and not learn about fruit. The students made their own fruit compote. Next week is our field trip! #edibleeducation #okanagan #eatlocal
