In SmartAsset’s ranking of the 50 largest cities, it comes in 19th, with solid marks on low traffic deaths but higher drug overdose rates dragging it down.  Overall, it’s among the safer big cities but not top 5—depends on whether you’re prioritizing violent crime, overdoses, or overall livability.
