Let me get this straight. A group of about 30 young men on motorbikes stormed All Saints' Cathedral in Nairobi. They disrupted a public participation meeting, assaulted attendees, robbed worshippers who had gone there to pray and connect with God, then rode into the streets where they terrorized pedestrians and stole from them. Later, after being informed that the meeting was still ongoing, they returned on foot, used more violence, and beat participants again before calmly dispersing and heading home. It is both absurd and embarrassing. To put this into perspective, All Saints' Cathedral sits along Kenyatta Avenue, next to Uhuru Park and within Nairobi's most heavily secured government district. Parliament, the Supreme Court, City Hall, and several key government offices are all within a short walking distance of the cathedral. Yet while all this was unfolding, inside the cathedral and on the surrounding streets, no meaningful help arrived. Kenyans do not fully appreciate what these inept politicians are playing with. They are nurturing forces they will not be able to control in the future. History is full of examples of groups that were tolerated, encouraged, or weaponized for short-term political gain, only to become a threat to everyone. This path is dangerous. Stop this abomination before it grows into something far worse.

What happened at All Saints Cathedral was sad, unfortunate, and foolish. If it is true CS John Mbadi sent these goons, then this country has gone to the pits. Worshipers were robbed live on camera... Fact that nobody else has been arrested, then Nairobi is officially the Goonland.

Deep in the Maasai Mara, a different kind of competition has been unfolding, one that has nothing to do with the lions and wildebeest that draw visitors from across the world. Here, residents have been pitching their business ideas, going through training, receiving mentorship, and ultimately walking away with funding to build something of their own. @IMFoundationKE sokodirectory.com/2026/06/deep-i…

In 1975, Muammar Gaddafi published The Green Book, a slim volume that became the ideological foundation of Libya's political system. It was presented as an alternative to both Western capitalism and Soviet communism. It was a "Third Universal Theory" Gaddafi argued that representative democracy was a fraud. According to The Green Book, parliaments, political parties, and elections merely transferred power from the people to elites. He famously claimed: "Representation is fraud." In his view, citizens should govern directly. His proposed solution was a system of Basic People's Congresses and People's Committees, where ordinary citizens would supposedly make decisions without intermediaries. Libya officially called itself the Jamahiriya, which translates to "the state of the masses." The book fiercely attacks political parties, describing them as instruments of dictatorship because they allow a minority to rule in the name of the majority. Gaddafi believed parties inevitably divide society and create permanent political classes. On economics, Gaddafi rejected both wage labor and private monopolies. He argued that workers should collectively own and manage the enterprises in which they work. The Green Book also rejected landlordism. Gaddafi insisted that "the house belongs to the one who lives in it," arguing that owning property merely to rent it out allowed one person to exploit another's need for shelter. On agriculture, he declared: "Land belongs to no one." Individuals had the right to use land and benefit from it, but not to monopolize or speculate on it. The book envisioned a society where productive resources were held and used collectively. Beyond politics and economics, The Green Book ventured into social theory. It discussed family, education, women, sports, and culture. Gaddafi defended traditional family structures while also arguing that women should participate fully in public life, though often within roles he saw as "natural." Education, according to Gaddafi, should not be imposed from above. He criticized standardized schooling and argued that forcing a curriculum on students was a form of dictatorship. He also opposed the commercialization of knowledge and culture. The text was translated into dozens of languages and distributed widely across Libya, Africa, and the Global South.

I honestly don’t think we’re ready for this Eastleigh conversation. Few Observations,. You buy something in the majority of those shops and they want cash. If you don’t have cash, they have their own MPesa agents they tell you to withdraw from. They then make a quick call to the agent to confirm the withdrawal before releasing your goods. That way, they never have to explain their cash flow, but you may one day have to explain yours to the taxman. We’re talking about a multi billion shilling industry with very little transparency, accountability or visibility into how money moves. And as long as they remain the middlemen, pay zero tax, sell “counterfeit goods” the government is comfortable But how dare you use the same business model, open your own wholesale operation and bring your own goods through the port?…..

Yesterday on Kenyatta Avenue, on my way to Community, I witnessed over 15 motorbikes, each with 2 people, robbing pedestrians and motorists in broad daylight... It was scary... Women screaming, others with kids, and I think, this is getting out of hand. They did this all the way to Valley Arcade I think... Is this the new normal in Nairobi? I saw a street preacher being snatched of his phone and some few coins...

SA is minting big from organizing marathons and ultras attraction athletes from all over the world . They literally have something every other month . This has a direct effect to the local economy; abnb are eating big in CapeTown , tourism around the area goes up with every run , Ubers , restaurants , flights etc . This Sunday the ultimate human race ; comrades marathon is going down and once again 1000s of runners from all over the world will have a 12 hour cut off time to finish nearly 90 kms of climbing 😮‍💨. Kenya boasts of producing world marathoners yet we still don’t have internationally acclaimed marathons . Hopefully standard chartered marathon can seal the loopholes now that it’s an Abbott marathon qualifier 🤔. Marathon tourism is a big thing hopefully Kenya can tap into it .

William Ruto opened a furniture factory in Eldoret last year October. Suddenly, forests are being cleared for state lodges. And suddenly, in the 2026/27 budget, Ksh 5.3B has been allocated for Furnitures and General Equipment. Remember Meru Governor said that the state lodge in Meru will be equipped using furniture made from the wood cleared in the forest. What he didn't tell you, is whose factory will make and supply the furniture. William Ruto is a thug who thinks that thuggery is a hustle. A President who is in business with taxpayers money is a thug! #RutoMustGoNow

State-hired goons have stormed a meeting where the KHRC and other CSOs were discussing the 2026-2027 budget that was presented yesterday. One of the assailants was arrested and said he was sent by a government official. Some valuables, including a phone, were stolen during the incident. The civil society held this meeting at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi to assess how well the budget addressed citizen concerns. We condemn this act of intimidation and assert that it will not deter us from scrutinizing the budget. We will continue to demand that it put the interests of the people at front and center.
