I don’t post this for pity.
I post this because someone out there needs hope if not you!
I lost my sister, Rebecca to cancer last year November.
Life didn’t pause. Bills didn’t pause. Hunger didn’t pause.
Now I’m raising my daughter alone.
In Lagos.
Every morning, it’s not just about waking up…
It’s about figuring things out.
School runs. Work stress.
Trying to earn, trying to learn, trying to survive.
Some days, I’m tired.
Some days, I feel like I’m not doing enough.
But I don’t have the luxury to quit.
Because someone is looking up to me to provide, to protect, and to nurture.
If you’re in Nigeria, you already know that;
Surviving on a low income is not easy.
But here’s what I’ve learned 👇
1. You can’t rely on one source of income.
Even if it’s small, find something else.
2. Your phone is not just for scrolling.
It’s a money making tool if you use it well.
(I see many people building their x account just to make little cash from the system which is a good thing).
3. Learn something digital.
It might feel slow at first, but it compounds.
4. Track your money.
Not because you have a lot… but because you don’t. (If you don't know how refer to my earlier post on how to track your expenses)
5. Rest when you can… but don’t stop.
(We live to fight another day)
I’m still figuring life out.
I’m still learning. I’m still building.
But I’ve decided one thing:
I will make, save, and grow money…
Not just for me, but for my daughter.
And for the life my sister would have wanted for us.
If you’re also hustling in Lagos,
trying to survive, trying to grow and try to rest…
You’re not alone.
What’s the biggest money challenge you’re facing right now?
