NATIONAL DOG DAY. We today celebrate our K9 friends who play a crucial role in protecting wildlife as anti-poaching unit dogs. Here are detection dogs Bobby & dearly departed Mitch, who we sadly lost to a fatal eye infection in Sept 2020, with their handlers & our trainer Yoann.

When protecting wildlife is your mission, a forest elephant grazing happily outside our trainers’ field office window is a reminder of how important our ranger training & empowering community work is to help create a harmonious living environment for all who live in the forest.

Part of the eco-guards‘ training that Chengeta delivers, promotes nationalism and pride for their country. This sentiment of serving their nation stays with them throughout their career. So today, the national celebration day of DRC is an important day for them!

In our Community Representative (ReCo) we work with men & women to represent community leaders & neighbors as communicators. The program is just over a year old & we hope to expand it with your support!

Today’s World Environment Day theme is Only One Earth: living sustainably in harmony with nature. This is meaningful as our teams work with communities in the Dzanga Sangha Protected Areas in the Central African Republic to realize a shared future for people & wildlife.

In many places, bongos are prized by sport hunters for their horns. As an important species in the Dzanga Sangha Protected Areas, they share the forest with critically endangered forest elephants & our trainers and rangers work to protect them from illegal hunting practices.

WORLD BONGO DAY. Earlier this week on 31st May was a day to celebrate the bongo, an herbivorous ungulate living in tropical rainforests of the Congo Basin who are classified by the IUCN’s Red List as ‘Near Threatened’ with a decreasing population of 15,000-25,000 across its range
