I finally have all 1.2 million raw image files from my latest mission to ISS! Here is a sample of one of my favorite Milky Way photos, taken from the Cupola with Nikon Z9, Arri Zeiss 15mm lens, T1.8 with custom sidereal drive that cancelled out star motion relative to our orbit.

Morning colours in the Outback Northern Territory 🇦🇺 Mornings.

These green boxes have been part of the riverbanks for over a century, and they are still run by independent sellers. Most days, you will find a mix of old prints, vintage magazines, and secondhand books laid out like this. The bouquinistes date back to the 16th century, but the current setup along the Seine became official in the 1800s. Today, there are around 200 of these stalls stretching for miles along both banks. It is one of the few traditions in Paris that has stayed almost unchanged. If you stop, take your time. Prices are not always marked clearly, and part of the experience is asking and chatting a bit. Some sellers speak English, some do not, but that is part of how it works here. Late morning to mid afternoon is usually the best time to walk this stretch. That is when most stalls are open and the light hits the river just right. 📍 Seine River banks, Paris Would you stop to dig through these, or just keep walking along the river?

For a few days each May and again each August, the setting sun lines up so precisely with the Champs-Élysées that it appears to slide directly under the Arc de Triomphe, framed inside the arch like it was built for this. Photographers call it Paris Henge, a nod to Manhattanhenge, the same kind of sunset alignment New Yorkers chase twice a year along Manhattan's street grid. The window is short and the spot is exact. This year, the alignment falls across a few days in early August, with the sharpest, most centered version of the sunset landing around August 4. A day or two on either side still gets you a version of the shot, just with the sun sitting slightly higher or lower in the arch. Position matters as much as the date. Move a few feet off the axis and the sun slips out from under the arch entirely. The sweet spot is the Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées, where the arch's width in the sky almost exactly matches the width of the setting sun. People start claiming a spot on the sidewalk an hour or more before sunset for a clear line down the avenue. The arch itself has stood at the top of the Champs-Élysées since 1836. Nobody building it was checking whether the sun would ever line up this perfectly with it.
