@Chessentials_ If a program requires the user to read the whole user manual that is the opposite of intuitive. It's not good or bad, but many people have a preference for intuitive over precise. Chessbase chooses precise over intuitive, it's just a preference and priority for many users

Unpopular opinion: Chessbase is actually a fantastic tool, despite all the jankyness. It literally took me 1 click to obtain a high-quality database of same-colored bishop endgames. Sure, it crashed once, but I think it is a small price to pay. I never got the Chessbase hate!

@Chessentials_ Haha don't get upset with me because you choose to use the word literally when you don't mean the word literally

@ChessBlackWhite My man, when I say "one-click", I don't mean "one-click from before my PC is even booted. I meant, one button once you have the position on the board, don't be so chessplayery.

@Chessentials_ Chessbase has great features if you are in the exact right place and know exactly what to press. People's problem with it starts with the needlessly obtuse learning curve it requires to use effectively

@Chessentials_ I'm not saying their isn't a button for similar endgames. I'm saying if you use the word literally then the click count should be accurate. Probably took a lot of clicks to create the postiin on the board as well. If I open chessbase I can not cannot do what you say in one click

@GMJacobAagaard He has only avoided the top guys because they are too scared/don't care to consistently play in the opens. I bet he would play them whenever they wanted...

Erigaisi is a lovely young man and I am so pleased to see him succeed. Still, it feels odd that he is advancing to the top of the pyramid without playing the top guys. He must be getting invited now! I look forward to see him play on the highest stage.

A more important final round game than I thought. Winning the tournament, 500th classical win, new alltime rating high, and the USCF CM title

Consistency has always been my weakness otb. It is now 9 wins in a row, 28 games without a loss vs a u2100, and 39 games without a loss vs a u1800. Should have a new high this week right about 2040 uscf

The eval bar is why I watch 90% less chess then a few years ago, I find it makes commentary pretty unwatchable. But uscf 2000 is not their target audience anyway

@ChessDoofus @ineedacortadito My fit bit always goes the most crazy when I am A. Winning out of the opening vs a stronger player B. Bad position out of the opening vs a weaker player C. My opponent is under 10 min on the clock

I love the idea of top players wearing heart rate monitors in tournaments. In some OTB games, I can feel my heart POUNDING. Winning position or losing position, it doesn’t matter; my heart is racing regardless.

@kamrynheidi Agree, it's a shame that these titles aren't more widely used. Having attainable milestones for players of all levels makes things more exciting. I've been nervously refreshing a tournament report all week waiting to see what norm I'll get.

They really need some more exciting names for these USCF class titles. “Oh yeah I’m working toward my 3rd Category Norms-Based Title” like what. How about a Halfways Decent Amateur title or something, spice it up a little

@nova_chess_guy @Nicholas_Sloan_ That being said, if I had my choice, I'd prefer 60/d5. People keep telling me that I'll love it when I have games that go 4+ hours -- and I don't really think I will. We'll see.

@thestrongchess @ChessExplained It always amazes me how much the chess community is anti science and relies on confirmation bias. I will continue to refrain from replying to the majority of your nutrition related posts except where I feel it is dangerously egregious. And continue to follow your good chess

@ChessBlackWhite @ChessExplained in the metaphor you are trying to construct here, trained dietitians == academic research on chess gym bros == experience of coaches/players that works in reality Good luck doing it your way. I'm going to go eat a bunch of rice, beef and spinach now. I have to DL 440x5 later

@thestrongchess @ChessExplained Some people find better chess results following 1200s than master chess coaches. But your response suggests you haven't actually sat down and met with a trained dietitian or read peer reviewed research on the specific topics you are looking into

@ChessExplained @thestrongchess I don't think there really is any debate on the matter umong trained dietitians, Americans eat way more protein than they need to. Perhaps if everyone's main priority is to bench more that wouldn't be true. But general health wise it's pretty clear

For many years, I have dreamed of becoming a travel writer, Sadly, however, this dream has always been cruelly thwarted by the fact that I don't really like travelling. But I have decided not to let that issue stand in my way anymore. Here is my review of Brazil
