We had another full house in Calgary yesterday. During the Q&A someone asked how we reach the younger people? They seemed worried that there weren't many in the crowd. Here's my answer. "Don't equate the crowd tonight with the overall support for the movement. We reach people through small events like this, social media such as Facebook, one-on-one discussion, podcasts, living room meetings, ralies, road-side petition locations, and even mainstream media stories. Different groups engage differently. Older Albertans like to meet in settings like this. But right now, we also have more than 350 folks watching us while we live stream. Many are younger supporters, who have families, jobs, and can't take time out of their lives to come attend an in-person meeting at 7:00 pm on a Thursday." I can assure you from my own personal experience, especially as a canvasser who has collected over 600 signatures, that the movement is reaching across the entirety of Alberta's population. Thank you Red Deer. The questions are getting better, and that tells me folks are having good discussions about Alberta's future. I'm also hearing a lot of stories about aggression towards our movement. That uncomfortable feeling is your government bearing down on you, and It's not going to ease up. Bravery in the face of an overwhelming opponent comes from conviction, and from standing side-by-side together.
