🛟 Successful Rescue Mission at Mt Dhaulagiri! 🏔️ • Renowned Spanish mountaineer Carlos Soria 🇪🇸 has been safely evacuated from Mt Dhaulagiri after sustaining leg injuries during his summit push. Soria, accompanied by Sito Carcavilla and a team of Sherpas, encountered a mishap at 7,650 meters on May 16. An accurate coordinated effort was launched to bring Carlos to safety, with the help of Mikel Sherpa and Sito Carcavilla guiding him to a secure point at Camp III. Ground handling teams in Pokhara and Kathmandu ensured emergency arrangements were in place. In display of solidarity, Polish climbers Oswald Rodrigo Pereria and Bartek Ziemski, who earlier conquered Annapurna and Dhaulagiri without oxygen cylinders, volunteered to join the rescue mission. A helicopter transported them, along with essential gear, oxygen, and supplies, to Camp II at 6,200 meters. On May 17, Carlos' team descended while the group from Camp II ascended to join them at Camp III, providing vital assistance. After a challenging effort, Carlos successfully reached Camp II on May 18.With a standby helicopter ready, Carlos was airlifted from Camp II and safely returned to Kathmandu. He is now at HAMS Hospital, recovering well with support from Isidoro and medical professionals. Plans are underway for his transfer back to Spain for continued treatment. We extend our deepest gratitude to all who contributed to this successful rescue operation. Carlos Soria's indomitable spirit and strength inspire us all. Our team has been hard at work here in Annapurna, and we're thrilled to report that the rope fixing has been completed up to 6800m (below C4)! Our fixing team, including a Sherpa from Seven Summit Treks, is now planning to open C4 and continue up the couloir by tomorrow.
