The Chargers could have resigned Odafe Oweh who was a proven commodity and only 2 years older than Mesidor. Instead they burned the 22nd pick. I cant even fathom the thought process.

slept on the Mesidor pick. still don't love it but the Chargers obviously feel as though their window to win is right now and at minimum his alignment versatility will allow them to throw pretty nasty nascar packages at teams. guy plays with a great motor. hope it works out

Oweh is a better athlete by a mile Mesidor is not an incredible athlete or elite at anything really he’s just fine. Which is to say mid which is to say he’s 25 and he’s mid.

@Chi30Cat @flock_chargers I couldn’t care less what surgeries he had. Alt and Hampton were ironmen yet they both missed significant time this season. There’s no correlation outside of extreme circumstances.
He was rushing inside, not on the edge before this season.

@PFFStarr @JesseReevesFF That’s a big if. His age is a huge problem there’s a reason why 25 year olds get drafted late or not at all. Oweh is 6ft5 and insane athlete and is just two years older. This guy is 25 yr old rookie and is edge 3 with a significant injury history. All the makings of a bad pick

@taStabss @flock_chargers 25 he “should be” ready to contribute day one. But the problem with drafting older players is not only did it take them longer to break out they are playing against younger players and who knows how he’ll look against players his age. Also two surgeries on both feet…

@taStabss @flock_chargers Maybe but he is no where near Oweh as an athlete. Mesidor is the most technically sound edge in the draft which he should be since he’s old as dirt. But he also relied on athleticism too much in Miami. Im just not feeling this pick I think there were younger and better edges left

@flock_chargers He’s a better prospect by a mile and Oweh was paid off of a season with Jesse Minter playing directly next to Khalil Mack. His career prior to that equivalent to one year of 2025 Alohi Gilman
