Some stuff I neglected to mention about the art:
IDW will swap artists almost every issue and doesn't have any lead artist to unify the styles like Yardley did for Archie. Therefore, IDW's only somewhat defining visual trait is how colorful it tends to be in most issues.
Second, the aesthetic of Archie Sonic drew from many different sources. Disney adventure comics, Marvel, even a heaping helping of Star Wars for the look and feel of the technology.
IDW's aesthetic is markedly more "toy-like." Certain elements look tailor-made to sell toys. Tails' car, his workshop, Motobud and Belle's wagon, Belle herself, most of the antagonists, etc. etc. It's an inherited gripe from the games. But the main thing is that the art of IDW is cannibalistic. It only draws from other "Sonic sources," be it the Riders opening cutscene, or the many, MANY OCs they include in civilian group shots.

Anyway, I'm gonna lay out a thread for anyone who was curious why I like Archie (even with its many, MANY flaws) better than IDW. I promise it ain't just nostalgia, folks. Now, let's start with the art, since I KNOW you guys will want to hear more about that. I'm well apprised of the bad art in Archie Sonic. It's pretty infamous at this point. Artists who couldn't draw Sonic correctly to save their lives, who made him look like some cyclopian goblin abomination, who didn't know how his quills were supposed to work, etc. Contrast that with IDW, where all the artists know, as a basic principle, how Sonic is supposed to look in a 3D space. The art in IDW isn't inherently bad. Keyword "inherently."

I know this is unpopular, but it will always be unattractive for a grown man to play video games. Some women might be understanding or pretend like they don’t care that you spend hours playing, but they do. It is extremely unattractive to women and will never not be. 🤷🏼♀️

4096色のうち明度16段階のうちブラウン管は0〜3ぐらいまでほぼ黒なので俺は0〜3でのグラデを止めそこを全部000とした。故に今のモニターでは灰色に見える部分が多い

This was meant as a diss on Sega Saturn, but as someone who enjoys video games, that sounds pretty damn good to me! 🤣 Usually, naysayers argue that Saturn is too arcade-oriented, but this guy even mentioned RPGs! 🤷♂️ That line about racing games being tech demos? What?! 🤔
