Landmarks Commission approved Adopt-A-Landmark grants for Apollo's 2000, 2875 W. Cermak Road, and the Pierce Arrow building, 2420 S. Michigan Ave. The grants will provide nearly $500,000 to support two restoration projects collectively valued at $1.5 million.

@TheCRCL held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week for its newly renovated South Lawndale child education facility, which serves more than 500 children and families in the area. DPD assisted the $11.9M project with a $1.15M Community Development Grant to modernize the building.

St. Paul C.M.E. Church, located at 4644 S. Dearborn St. in Grand Boulevard, received a final landmark recommendation from the Landmarks Commission. The 1925 Tudor Revival building houses Chicago's oldest Christian Methodist Episcopal congregation.

Byrne Hall, 2219 N. Kenmore Ave., received a preliminary landmark recommendation from the Landmarks Commission today. Completed in 1907, the Italian Renaissance Revival building was the original home of DePaul University and remains a part of the school's Lincoln Park campus.
