As we head into St. Patrick's Day weekend, we encourage everyone to celebrate safely and responsibly. The Chicago Police Department will have additional police officers deployed to areas of major celebrations throughout the city this weekend to maintain public safety.

The Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Fire Department held a joint boxing clinic at Scottsdale Park to teach young athletes the art of the "sweet science." The first responders served as coaches and mentors to foster positive relationships with youth from the community.

The Chicago Police Department commemorates #WomensHistoryMonth by honoring our first female police officer, Marie Owens, who was also the first policewoman in the US. She joined CPD in 1891 and dedicated over 30 years of service to the department before retiring in 1923.
