Knew a guy in high school whose parents told him once he graduated, he was on his own. Sure enough, after the ceremony, he goes home & they tell him he needs to be out that night. He couch surfed while working at a roofing company. Pretty sure he died of an overdose during Covid.

I enjoy how in the 90s/00s there were multiple huge films about people whose tragic backstory was they were bored by their stable office jobs and comfortable lives, and so they rejected this comfort & stability, then after the 2008 crash they stopped making those films forever.
