Last Friday, The Tree Preservation Committee celebrated Arbor Day by planting trees at Chickering Elementary School and Highland Cemetery. Students received saplings to plant at home. Over 500 saplings were bagged by volunteers. Happy belated Arbor Day, Dover!

First Grade Authors’ Breakfast was a huge success. It is the culmination of the research project on animals. Congratulations to Mrs. Oleyer’s and Mrs. Emerson’s classes as well as Mrs. Uminski! #DSteachlearn

Dover received its first "Tree City USA" designation by the Arbor Day Foundation. The town met the standards by having a tree committee, community tree-care ordinance, spending $2+ per person on urban forestry, and celebrating Arbor Day annually. more at: bit.ly/4d6lghr

In 5A, students are asking and answering questions while reading nonfiction texts. It’s been especially powerful for students to ask, “What does the author assume we know?” and then apply strategies to figure out key vocabulary and concepts! @ChickeringDover @DSteachlearn
