After nearly 41 years as a police officer and 19 as chief, today is my last day on the job. I have no complaints.

Two police officers in my home state were murdered in the last two days...one responding to a dog complaint, the other assisting a motorist. Stop telling me that ANYONE can predict whether any citizen encounter may or may not turn violent. #BlueLivesMatter
