Please do not give children under 12 years old Pepto-Bismol or other medicines containing bismuth subsalicylate without medical advice. Many parents do not know that these medicines contain a salicylate similar to Aspirin, which has been linked to a rare but dangerous condition called Reye's syndrome. Reye’s syndrome can cause: • Brain swelling • Liver damage • Seizures • Coma 👇🏽

I thought bringing a baby into the world was the hardest part of motherhood. I was so wrong 😭 😭 The actual hardest part is the mental toll that comes right after. Before your stitches even start to heal, people suddenly becomes a pediatrician. "Ah, why is the baby so small? Are you sure your breast milk is enough? See how tiny he is looking." "She was so fair when she was born, why is she getting dark now?" "You need to feed this baby well oh, look at how thin her legs are." "Give him formula so he can be chubby. Babies are supposed to be fat." It is incredibly exhausting 😢 You’re running on zero sleep. Your body is still in pain. You’re emotionally drained. You’re trying to keep a tiny human alive. But somehow people still make you feel like you’re already failing as a mother, simply because your baby doesn’t look like the diaper packs babies online. Please, I’m begging some of you 🙏, stop putting unnecessary pressure on new mothers. Not every healthy baby will be big, fat, or overly fair. Sometimes all a new mum needs is: Congratulations. You’re doing well. How can I help? That’s it. If you can’t offer kind and encouraging words, or prayer, please keep the unsolicited medical analysis to yourself. As long as the baby is healthy, breathing, and eating, that should be enough. New mothers are already fighting silent battles mentally. Be gentle with them. Have you ever experienced or witnessed this kind of pressure before?

Somebody gave me fake 1k note in the market this evening. I didn't know until my mum was arranging the money and showed it to me. That my onions will turn to sickness in that person's body instead of vitamins.

@ChildHealthhero Surely, the kids don't feel secure in that environment. The parents need to do better, and people don't just change overnight. If you're arguing when your kid is 3 years old, you will argue when they're 10 years old and fully aware.

I visited a friend over the weekend, and from her apartment we could clearly hear the neighbors shouting at each other. They were arguing loudly, insulting themselves, while their baby cried in the background. My friend couldn’t ignore it. She went over, knocked, and gently asked them to calm down for the sake of the children watching. The woman thanked her, but said, “The kids are still small… they don’t understand anything yet.” But is that really true? Parents, let’s talk. When children constantly hear arguments, insults, and fighting at home… do we really think it doesn’t affect them? What do you think a child grows into when conflict is what they hear every day?

@ChildHealthhero No, children are never too young to be affected. Even if they don’t understand the words, they feel the tension and it stays with them. What they hear and see at home shapes how they grow up.
