When parents ask why their child’s behaviour has changed so dramatically, the temptation is to focus on the words being said. But a child’s expressed position is rarely the origin of the problem. It is the outcome of the environment they are adapting to… The full article is available on the Parental Alienation Sanctuary, a subscription service that offers exclusive access to daily guidance, insights, eGuides, videos, parent community and bi-weekly live Q&As with Charlie. Today we will be looking at how children enter into the disorganised attachments which lead to psychological splitting and what is happening in the brain when they face 'fear without solution' in divorce and separation. 5-7pm GMT - online - book at tickettailor.com/events/familys…

As we close in on our 6 million children mark, the privilege and responsibility of standing before hundreds of learners daily is a reminder of why child protection is not just policy, but purpose and passion.

TONIGHT we're going to cover Chapter 5 of Dr. Childress's book, Foundations, which is called "The Role Reversal Core." It's critical to understand the role-reversal relationship in this family dynamic. As an adult child who lived through a role-reversal relationship, Madi brings the real life experience to the clinical knowledge provided by Dr. Childress. youtube.com/live/amP4imIfs…

When mothers and children seek safety, the system should protect them. Too often, it does not. @HeidiGiokos speaks to Adv. Angela Jayne Bates about access to justice, retraumatisation, child safety, and why institutional failure in family and domestic violence matters is also a human rights failure. #eNCA Watch the full episode here: enca.com/voices-change-…

Your child has basically been given permission, they’ve been encouraged, coached, coerced into disrespecting you. In fact, an alienated child may feel rewarded for it. When a high-conflict parent wants to minimise you, the quickest route is rarely courts or contact schedules. It is conditioning. The child is taught, quietly and repeatedly, that you are someone who can be dismissed, challenged, or punished without consequence. When disrespect is met with approval, protection, or affection from the other parent, the lesson lands fast. Rejecting you is not only allowed, it pays. What gets labelled as attitude, teenage rebellion, or a child ‘just being difficult’ is often a carefully coached survival response. The child aligns with the more powerful or emotionally volatile parent because that is where approval and emotional cover appear to live. They are led to believe that siding with that parent keeps them out of trouble and preserves access to love, even if the price is the relationship with you. This is why the eye rolls, the unanswered calls, the sudden cruelty cut so deeply. It is not simply disrespect, as it may seem. It is a loyalty conflict engineered so that caring about you feels risky. In that climate, rejection becomes a form of self-preservation rather than any verdict on your parenting. This is the quiet tragedy of parental alienation. A child is manoeuvred into abandoning a loving parent in order to cope within an emotional system they did not choose. Understanding this does not make the loss hurt less, but it does place responsibility where it belongs, and it reminds us that the rejection they are facing is manufactured. It did not originate with them. To join, click this link: charliemccready.com/parental-alien… #parentalalienation #narcissistic #divorce

There are situations where a parent must act protectively to safeguard a child from genuine harm, and that is not what parental alienation describes. Alienation involves influencing a child’s perception in ways that distort reality and undermine a previously loving bond… The full article is available on the Parental Alienation Sanctuary, a subscription service that offers exclusive access to daily guidance, insights, eGuides, videos, parent community and bi-weekly live Q&As with Charlie. Most parents have heard the name Discord, but very few actually understand what it is. The reality: Discord is not just a gaming app. It’s a digital meeting space where children join servers (like private clubs) and talk in channels (chat rooms) through text, voice, or video

Most parents worry about stranger danger online, but few want to talk about how their own "distracted parenting" (being on their phones while with their children) creates a vulnerability that predators exploit.

When an alienated child demands an apology for things we did not do, we face an impossible bind. We are not angry at our children, even if we sometimes feel hurt or shaken, because their anger did not arise from wrongdoing on our part. Please reach out if I can help with the coaching I offer. I've been through this myself and I've helped hundreds of parents (and some alienated children). Often people come along with a partner/spouse if it helps. Mental health challenges don't follow a schedule, and they don’t discriminate. In moments when things feel like they’re becoming too much to handle, knowing where to turn can make all the difference.

We talk a lot about child protection in boardrooms, policy meetings, and conferences. Children don’t report bullying because: • They think nothing will change • They are afraid it will make things worse • They don’t trust the system meant to protect them
