@bmore_ray52 @jonas_shaffer McGahee's a good pull. Had forgotten he cost two thirds. After EDC took over, he traded for Peters, Calais, Ngakoue and Roquan over his first four seasons. That signaled to me a greater eagerness to trade for star veterans. But you make a fair point about Ozzie's willingness.

@ChildsWalker @jonas_shaffer Are you just going off of names or what was given up to get them? Because before today I’d say Ozzie trading for McGahee, Boldin and Steve McNair were just as big, if not bigger splashes than EDC.

Eric DeCosta has always been more willing than his mentor, Ozzie Newsome, to take a big trade swing. Still never expected him to give up two cherished picks. Yet more evidence that the Ravens braintrust saw last year as a crisis that demanded bold departures from their norms.

@bmore_ray52 @jonas_shaffer The trade for Roquan was more aggressive than any Ozzie made for a veteran. He gave up real draft capital for Ngakoue in 2020, made the move for Peters in 2019 (albeit for a more modest price). Ozzie traded for Boldin; just think EDC has been more splash prone.

@ChildsWalker @jonas_shaffer When you say, “big trade swing” do you mean players or packages given up for players? Cause looking through the Ravens history (before today) Ozzie/EDC were pretty neck and neck on what they gave up in trades so I’m not seeing where the “always been more willing” is.
