The vast majority of AAU players would be much better off (and their parents have much more $ in their pocket) if they played locally/semi-regionally with their HS teammates, and did more individual skill work. But, there’s less prestige in that.

AAU used to be the best of the best but parents kids weren’t good enough so they started creating teams so their kids could play. Now it’s a National free for all. A USA rec league. 95% of kids playing won’t sniff a college bball court at any level. I wish the system was better
