Why “Just Leapfrogging to Renewables” Isn’t a Serious Plan “Leapfrogging to renewables” sounds simple but energy systems aren’t. Solar and wind are essential, but they’re variable. Without strong grids, storage, and backup generation, reliability becomes a challenge. Many developing systems are still building core infrastructure, which limits how fast renewables can scale. The goal isn’t to slow renewables, but to integrate them properly. Energy transitions work when technology, infrastructure, and operations grow together. Africa is expected to transition fast. But few ask: what are we transitioning from? When power is unstable, climate debates feel distant. When industries run below capacity, decarbonisation feels abstract. Context matters. What works in Europe won’t sequence the same way in West Africa. What fits the U.S. grid can’t simply be transplanted into fragile networks. Africa doesn’t need lower standards; it needs smarter sequencing: energy access first, system strengthening next, decarbonisation integrated not imposed. Because ambition without context becomes pressure, but ambition with context becomes strategy. The real question is this: are we ready to design an energy transition that reflects our realities, not borrowed timelines?

A lot of people want growth on social media, but they want to skip the part that actually makes growth possible. They want more followers, more engagement, more visibility. But they do not want to slow down and think about why they are posting, who they are talking to, or what the content is meant to achieve. So social media becomes reactive. Posting because it is time to post. Chasing trends because everyone else is doing it. Switching directions every few weeks because results are not instant. Growth does not come from doing more. It comes from doing things with intention. Strategy is the unsexy part of social media. It is asking uncomfortable questions. It is making decisions that take time to show results. It is saying no to random ideas that do not align with the bigger picture. When strategy is skipped, social media managers are left trying to create results from chaos. And when results do not come, the blame often lands on execution instead of the missing foundation. Growth without strategy is luck. Growth with strategy is repeatable.
