@Iyoaiye_ @AishaYesufu @Peter4Nigeria A man took an unknown party less down 9months to a presidential elections and still got over 6million votes despite the rigging but by your floored logic, you want him to contest internally to test his popularity, does this make sense to you.

Just because I criticized Peter Obi for failing to properly negotiate tickets for two of his key supporters who lost out in the Abuja primary on Friday, @AishaYesufu and @Peter4Nigeria, some of his overzealous followers rushed in to twist the point. In their attempt to defend him, they reduced a clear political issue to a shallow argument about “merit alone,” as if politics is not about negotiation, structure, and give-and-take. Yet the same Peter Obi they defend as the best candidate has never truly gone through a fully competitive primary to test his own political strength, but has instead relied on negotiations or consensus. He went to Rivers State during a project commissioning Wike invited him to in 2022, where he publicly engaged in political negotiations with Wike and his supporters to give him the presidency, while they take every other political position, despite having candidates from his political party contesting for the same positions. This same man has, at different times, stepped away from tough internal contests and secured tickets through negotiation or consensus arrangements, rather than open competition. So it becomes inconsistent and takes on a godfatherism character when he fails to help some of his key supporters negotiate for their own positions, yet when it is revealed that he lacks the capacity or appears self-centered, his online supporters cover up that perceived weakness by insisting that winning should simply be based on merit without political backing or negotiation. The illogical imbalance lies in not understanding that politics is not only about who is capable; it is also about negotiation and securing space within a system. If negotiation is wrong in politics, then why is it acceptable when it benefits him, but wrong when it could have helped his own supporters? That contradiction is what we will continue to expose and point out.

Together, these projects will lower transport costs, expand cleaner energy, and strengthen our energy sovereignty. To all Media houses - I did not quit. I did not step down. - Correct your headline I fought for my senatorial ticket to the very end. A flawed primary was conducted and someone else was declared. I reject the narrative that I "quit." What I did was choose, for the greater good of the party and the nation, to accept a flawed outcome rather than tear the NDC apart when a bigger fight looms.
