Thank you to Dr. Kara Powell from Fuller Seminary @fullerseminary & all the staffs from @fullerFYI for sharing w/ us on your recent research on spiritual formation with and among youth & families. One of the most formative years (K~12) for anyone called by God to walk & grow in their spiritual journey. Had it not been for the grace of God to awaken my (spiritual) eyes at age 17, I would have never discovered the wonder & beauty of God's sovereign mystery & mercy... May God use your ministry to reach & equip many next generations for the Kingdom purpose and glory of the local church. fuller.edu fulleryouthinstitute.org/story/work

I must say this is one of the best (new) initiatives & city-wide policies I've seen in a long time... that would benefit the residents and help families. Hope that many (new & young) families would take an advantage of it and that the program would be securely funded for the long haul. #FreeChildCare #SanFrancisco | @DanielLurie
Daniel Lurie 丹尼爾·羅偉@DanielLurie

San Francisco already offers free child care for families earning up to 150% of the area median income (about $230K for a family of four) through the Family Opportunity Agenda we launched in January. Today, we’re expanding it. ➡️ More spots: Nearly 750 new early learning spots are opening this summer. More than half are for infants and toddlers—the hardest care to find. ➡️ More families qualify: Starting in July, families earning up to 200% of median income (about $310K for a family of four) will qualify for the first time—with a 50% subsidy. ➡️ More providers: Starting now, providers can apply early to join the Early Learning for All network—so we can reach more families, faster. All this work is backed by funding voters approved and built with providers that families already know and trust. San Francisco will be the first city in the country where every family with a young child has access to affordable child care. If you have a young child here, you should be able to find care you trust—and can afford. That’s the standard we’re setting. Because when we support families at the very beginning, we strengthen everything that comes after.

Sometimes, (real) CHANGE requires RADICAL SHIFT in virtually everything (paradigm, philosophy, beliefs, values, behaviors, and habits). For most societies, cultures, and certainly (any given) constituencies, it can often be too much to accept or embrace. One reason why ONLY the few experience growth or transformation... "You cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results..." ~Zig Ziglar (1926~2012)

Some of the most essential and vital attributes for any given constituency (organizations, institutions, and societies) may be found in WHAT IS rather INVISIBLE (such as character, competence, conscience, compassion, common sense, etc.). The KEY(S) to bringing forth and enjoying "success, peace, and fulfillment" for ALL involved is to identify those (PEOPLE) who would and could espouse, embody, and exercise those PRINCIPLE(S) & PILLAR(S). Sadly or unfortunately, these attributes are rather difficult to see or detect at first glance for most, esp. for those societies that are deprived (or degraded) of proper sound judgment... And many often become easy PREY under deception(s) and counterfeit(s)... Romans 16:18 2 Tim. 3:13

SMALL BUSINESS/RESTAURANTS: #SanFrancisco - Restaurants Feel Like the City Has Stolen From Them... ~Sara Deseran | @sfstandard (4.29.26) #Mismanagement #Negligence #FinancialRobbery The “Healthy SF” surcharges are evidence that diners have been funding a sick city government rather than healthy restaurant workers all along... “It’s a form of robbery,” said Ben Bleiman, a seasoned bar owner and president of the city’s Entertainment Commission, a man who says out loud what everyone else is thinking. Many restaurateurs have long felt the city has been stealing from them... "After a few hours on the phone with city administrators, I learned that the balance was held in my San Francisco Medical Reimbursement Account (SF MRA), a fund born out of the Health Care Security Ordinance (opens in new tab), or HCSO, which requires employers of a certain size to pay a minimum amount on healthcare per employee. This money had been sitting there for more than a decade, paid on my behalf when I worked for the restaurant group Tacolicious..." "Although the HCSO applies broadly across San Francisco industries, it’s fair to say that restaurants have felt its effects the most. Much of what they’ve paid into the program has piled up in employee healthcare accounts. The total unspent funds from all the city’s businesses now reach nearly $1 billion. So on May 21, when the city plans to pocket roughly $240 million of that..." sfstandard.com/2026/04/29/off… via @sfstandard

PASTORAL BULLETIN WEEKLY: 4.25.26 Greetings to you, Do you remember or have you ever MISSED OUT on something because you didn't or couldn't see it at the time? (I know I have a few, if not many…) Someone once said, "You don't know what you've got until it's gone..." ~Tom Keifer Sometimes we may not realize or recognize what we have until we lose it. People tend to take things for granted. So, one of the keys to avoiding unnecessary regret or mistakes is to reduce or minimize any blind spots we may have. But it's not always easy... You may remember this famous quote by Steve Jobs, which still rings very true today. "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So, you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future." ~Steve Jobs Even some of the smartest people we know couldn't always know in advance. As popular and powerful as Jesus was, not everyone was able to recognize or receive Him for who He was… From the passage Matt. 13:53~58, we’ve examined the issue of failing to recognize the gift of God. Sometimes we may be BLINDED by our own PRESUMPTION of PRIDE and fail to see what God has before us or given us, and therefore, OPEN-MINDEDNESS and HUMILITY would be vital to our own growth and success.... Matthew highlights the scene as follows. V53-56. THE HOMETOWN'S REJECTION OF JESUS V57-58. JESUS' RESOLVE & RECOURSE Scriptures remind us that… 1. Although they clearly saw and recognized the brilliance and wisdom from Jesus when he was in Nazareth, because of their PRESUMPTION, PRIDE, & UNBELIEF, they failed to receive and recognize Jesus... Sometimes we also may be overlooked, disregarded, or even rejected by our own people, but we need to learn to accept it as is and move forward. 2. Jesus calmly recites the Old Testament reference and move on from a small town of Nazareth to begin His official ministry from the region of Galilee. This week we are moving into chapter 14 in the book of Matthew where Jesus begins to perform many supernatural miracles. We may be unsure of what we have to offer, but God can increase and multiply what we give exponentially... How to establish (or re-establish) foundation for (future) peace, harmony, and prosperity. Remove all the VICES (corruption(s), counterfeit(s), etc.) and replace them with the VIRTUES. P.S. Vice and virtue cannot co-exist peacefully nor harmoniously. Vice must be eradicated before virtue can take effect and flourish...
