CHOMP Recap
CHOMP has come and gone—and wow, what an amazing turnout! We had 550 attendees this time, which is way more than our first CHOMP last year at the brewery.
This year, we decided to try something different: a daytime event with more of a market vibe to see how it would go. It was also our first time at a new venue, which came with a few bumps—mainly the AC not working properly, which made things hotter than we expected. Luckily, that’s already been handled with the hotel for next time.
All in all, it was a big success. For an event my husband and I mostly put together ourselves (with help from some awesome volunteers), we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Huge thanks to our DJs, vendors, and volunteers for making it all happen—and of course, a massive thank you to everyone who came out! The positive feedback we’ve gotten has really motivated us to keep CHOMP going strong.
Looking ahead, CHOMP will stay a one-day event, whether it’s a market like this one or more of a dance party like last year. We’re aiming to run it twice a year—in spring and fall. We plan to stick with the same hotel but are already looking at booking a larger ballroom and maybe starting a bit later in the day to help avoid the heat.
We’ve had a few people ask if CHOMP will ever become a full-on convention, and the answer is no. The whole idea behind CHOMP is that it’s a fun, low-pressure one-day thing—something you can enjoy on a Saturday and still have the rest of your weekend free. Plus, with everything else we’ve got going on, keeping it to one day is what works best for us and helps us keep doing it year after year.
Here are a few quick photos I snapped during setup—once the event started, things got too busy to take more! If you have photos from CHOMP, please share them with us—we’d love to see them.
We’ll post the dates for the next event on the website, social media, and Telegram once they’re locked in. Thanks again for all the love and support. See you next time!
