One bizarre thing I found in east Africa is that you’d go to a nice cafe in the capital that has white people and rich Africans BUT You’ll constantly get asked by the Africans for a new job or a visa. It wasn’t one off. Over 30 cafes and restaurants I visited had the same thing. “Can you get me a visa?”, “can you get me into England?”, “can you give me a job?” It’s a real issue because you can’t relax in these countries outside of resorts. You’re just a piece of meat with a wallet to them
