#England — Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour has been accused of supplying weapons to Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which faces genocide allegations in Sudan. Human rights organization FairSquare has asked the United Kingdom government to open an investigation into Sheikh Mansour.
The organization says there are numerous credible sources indicating that the United Arab Emirates has violated the United Nations arms embargo since 2023 by providing weapons, ammunition and logistical support to the Rapid Support Forces. FairSquare describes Sheikh Mansour as “a senior and visible UAE intermediary with the RSF before and after the outbreak of conflict in Sudan.”
The complaint states that Sheikh Mansour had high-level contact with the Rapid Support Forces both before and during the war, and that formal notification was also made to United Kingdom football authorities.
The development comes as ownership checks in English football are expected to be tightened. Manchester City is also still facing 115 separate charges over alleged breaches of financial rules.
