@glamvicar Goodness, never occurred to me we were supposed to do that sort of stuff. My lot were abandoned, just like I was. Bad mummy, haha!

@DrFrancisYoung And even in the Diocese doesn't the Bishop of Dover still live in Canterbury and do a lot of the Diocesan stuff?

What’s missed by everyone worrying that we don’t yet have an Archbishop of Canterbury is that, unless you’re in the Diocese of Canterbury, there’s *almost nothing* in the CofE which is formally held back or affected by not having an Archbishop. Nothing grinds to a halt

Process to appoint next Archbishop of Canterbury is an "omnishambles" Took 17 days from Francis's death to elect Pope Leo XIV Six months after Welby announced resignation, CofE is yet to fill all spots on committee to name successor What's gone wrong: thetimes.com/uk/religion/ar…

@rmbastable Whereas when I hear 'could ye not watch with me one brief hour?' I think 'I've already been here an hour' and leave straight away when the service has ended. It gets us all differently....

For the last few years one of my churches has had a Watch of one hour after Mass. Often, by the end of that hour I was on my own. Last night we went until midnight. For the first hour we stayed in double figures. We never dipped below 4. At midnight we were 7. This feels good!

Good to see the Church Times considers the launch of the @RSCMCentre Young Voices Toolkit to be front-page news. I agree!

@revpaulwhite I went to a service when the start was delayed due to this reason. The copies were still warm when they were given out.

My clergy nightmare came true this evening: big service with the bishop but no orders of service - rushed 3 miles home, amend service, print 30 copies, collate them and speed 3 miles back to church with only 10 mins before the service! Eek!

@FrGeorgeReeves I wish more priests would say, as part of a baptism service, that adults can get baptised too. I suspect more and more people were never baptised as children these days.

Kitties update: my view on opening my curtains. 3 sleepy felines! Solo is on the left and Piccolo in the middle. Piccolo is still much smaller but it isn't apparent in this photo as she is also closer!

‘Remember that you are dust, & to dust you shall return.’ I used to be moved when imposing ashes on the foreheads of young Cathedral choristers with these solemn words. I used to wonder: what do these boys & girls of tender age know of mortality? Or need to know? @terratologist

The delicate crescent moon has just pursued a bright wanderer (Venus?) in a slow, graceful arc across the window, fragmented by a bare tree. Glorious 😍 (Just wish I knew how to photograph it! You'll have to take my word)
