TAPPS Division II - District 2
Grace Prep Academy-Arlington @grace_prep
Head Coach: Chad Pegues @chadpegues
📝 2025 Outlook
The Lions look to rebound in 2025 behind the experienced leadership of Coach Pegues, whose background includes pro and arena league pedigree. They return several core contributors, including senior QB Kohein Jergenson @koheinjergenson, and a veteran senior-laden offensive line anchor their potential. Grace Prep aims to compete in the district with a physical identity upfront and a dynamic QB at the helm setting the table for a successful season.
🔥 Things to Like
🔹2-way stars: WR/DB Daniel Keck @DanielKeck45609 and WR/FS Jacob Wambsganss @JacobWambsganss, give Grace Prep two-way contributors who can impact games both as receiving targets and in coverage. Their versatility helps balance out the offensive and defensive units, especially with defenses keying on QB Jergenson and RB Bonjour.
🔹 Experienced front line O line presence: Seniors James McKinney @JJMckinney78, Kolby McLean @KolbyMcLean59, Colt Howard @Choward_44 and Greyson Whisenant @greywhise return to bring both size and toughness in the trenches—key to dictating the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball
🔹 Emerging quarterback play with high ceiling: Senior QB Jergenson, noted for his dual-threat skill and “next level potential,” steps in as the unquestioned signal-caller. His arrival is one of the most talked about developments this offseason.
🔹 Backfield versatility and returning production: Junior RB/CB Noah Bonjour, who contributed scoring punch in 2024, returns to complement the new offensive approach. He’s part of a backfield group expected to carry over productivity into next year.
👀 Things to Watch
🔹 Replacing graduated leadership: The departure of last year’s first team All State RB Bryce Prince, leaves a void in leadership and production. How well Bonjour, Jergenson, and others step up will be critical to team rhythm.
🔹 Overall depth and experience: The Lions still need to build depth across multiple position groups. Continued development of underclassmen like sophomore Simon Thomas and Jaxson Bryson @BrysonJaxson and junior Carter Smith will determine whether the team can sustain competitiveness across an entire season.

After a tough 1-9 campaign last season, Coach Pegues and the Lions knew they had plenty of work ahead of them. Fortunately, they got a significant boost with the arrival of Kohein and David Jergenson, who moved in from the Houston area. kohein Jergenson, a dynamic dual-threat quarterback with serious next-level potential, is poised to lead the offense this year. He’ll be well-protected by a strong offensive line featuring James McKinney, Greyston Whisenant, Colt Howard, Kolby McClean, and others.
In the backfield, Noah Bonjour is stepping up to fill the shoes of Bryce Prince, who’s now playing Division II football at Southern Nazarene. Bonjour will have his work cut out for him, but he’s primed to make an impact. Meanwhile, playmakers like Daniel Keck, Jacob Wambsganss, and Jaxon Bryson are expected to step into larger roles and help power the offense.
Despite losing some key talent to graduation, the Lions appear to be on track for a more promising season. With the added strength of the Jergenson brothers and a talented supporting cast, it’s shaping up to be an improved year for the Lions.
