There's the economic and social side of these ideas and the latter often take the lead. Also sometimes i like to argue the losing side ;)

Whether there'll be an alternative to a free market remains to be seen, but we have to face the fact that this trend will reverse sooner or later as it's unsustainable for a big part of the voters

@Chris21124 @Harpua71 @nic_carter @lwoodhouse I don't think people realize that once the scales tip far enough that, say, a president could be elected solely upon a voter base that is govt dependent, our system would no longer work. Any candidate willing to take more from mkt to give more benefits wins everytime.

I agree that the current society doesn't need stuff like UBI yet, but on the other hand i wouldn't discard it in the future as an alternative for the aforementioned crisis.

@Harpua71 @nic_carter @ProvidenceAve @lwoodhouse That's a non-argument. There are entry barriers to tech sectors that for some people can't be surpassed. IQ is a limiting factor and it's more clear that there will be a job crisis coming for the lower class if we leave it this way. Unless we want to cultivate useless jobs.

@Don_wonton @DanDarkPill I think that sidechains are the answer, the argument to keep layer 1 as simple as possible is valid. Although i wouldn't rule out a blocksize increase in the future, one big concern is that it ruins backwards compatibility that is so far preserved.

@Don_wonton Welp, then non existent volume it is. BCH is down there when it comes to usage, i don't see the trend reversing anytime soon.
