No Colwill, no Fofana, no Tosin, no Chalobah, no Santos, no Palmer, no Delap, Badiashile goes off injured, Acheampong goes off injured, James and Hato as CB pairing up against Salah, Isak, Gakpo, Szoboszlai, Ekitike and Wirtz. To see a Chelsea side perform like that despite all that adversity is something every single Chelsea fan should be proud of. To see the heart, guts, desire, maturity, composure, discipline and just a sheer will to win at all costs from this group was so good to see. What a way to go into the international break. The fact they have the utter arrogance to say they have wasted money but that's inevitable at big clubs, shows exactly the type of people they are. ZERO acknowledgement, ZERO acceptance and ZERO accountability on their part for all the failings they have created. Disgusting!!!

🚨 Chelsea believe they have recruited well in many areas, with some wastage inevitable at a big club. There has never been any suggestion the SD’s would be reviewed for what fans call underperformance. Chelsea are happy with those in charge and are now very strict on wages. (@NizaarKinsella)

If the ownership and regime at Chelsea wanted a reason as to why their model will never work, Enzo Fernandez is exactly that reason. Nobody can say Enzo hasn't been patient, a player who has dedicated over 3 years believing we were a club wanting to challenge for the biggest and highest of honours. 3 years later and we are 6th in the Premier League, over 20 points off the top and just been humiliated 8-2 in the Champions League last 16. A club showing no signs of matching the players that they call "irreplaceable" ambitions and piece by piece disintegrating the club in the process. As we all know and keep saying, unless these owners change the way they run our club, things will only get worse.

The only way to change this is to dump the SDs and change the role of the manager & how the structure works. And give power to an elite SD and a head coach, to implement the strategy & build a winning team. That’s how it’s meant to happen

What is the most concerning aspect with the current state of our club, is the longer Chelsea are run the way they are, the more likely no top manager or player will ever want to join. Once the likes of Enzo, Caicedo, Palmer, Estêvão, João Pedro confirm we are not a team who is going to challenge at the top, even a change in the model strategy won't help with bringing in top players, where this will then coincide with a failure to attract the best managers. The downward spiral that this new ownership has created will become so severe, I don't know whether Chelsea will ever get back to what we all know and love while these demons are in charge. The way it's going and if it continues in this way, I can only see darker times ahead.
