@Top10Nathan See You on the Other Side is their best by miles and no-one's ever brave enough to say it. Wait, what am I doing on Twitter? Bye!
English

While exercising this morning, this came on on shuffle.
My first thought was that I didn't recognise the Prefab Sprout song playing, and that was before the Paddy McAloon-sounding voice came in.
Not listened to much Mercury Rev, but I need to change that very soon.

@jamiebarnes @lowtheband Ha, that's what I was thinking. Mind you, so do I.
Wait 'til he finally listens to side 2 and we get to hear his takes on When I Go Deaf and Pissing!
English

@lowtheband Bro really likes the Great Destroyer record.
Super cool, Alan.

Been sitting on this news for a month! Saw them play it live in Amsterdam. A surprise, for sure. Go see Robert and Saving Grace on tour. Safe travels to everyone out there trying to keep love and hope alive with music, art, and kindness.
Stereogum@stereogum
.@RobertPlant has announced 'Saving Grace,' his first album with his backing band of the same name. It's "a song book of the lost and found," sung with fellow vocalist Suzi Dian. Hear their cover of @lowtheband's "Everybody's Song" and get more details: stereogum.com/2315599/robert…

@lolaeyedoc @guardian I was delighted they were happy to talk about it, and also that David mentioned the Jools Holland performance as I was determined to find an excuse to post a link in the article. I'm sure your family won't mind - it's one of the few songs it feels almost impossible to over-play.
English

The @guardian just reminded me about 'Yes' (theguardian.com/culture/2025/j…) & took me back to the transcendence of playing this over, and over, and over again. I am about to make my family truly sick of me.
Thank you McAlmont & Butler (& @ChrisDBroughton!)

@mattfoy81 This made me a bit weepy - I wasn't even sure if Mick and John were still talking until I heard about these shows. If they ever do a Strands gig there'll be no keeping me away.
English

@LankumDublin Have to admit my stomach dropped, but then I saw the tweet a day late. April Fools' messages can be risky!
English

@JayneMoobs @KKJK27 This one's an interesting place to start, as it's their equivalent of Kate Bush's 'Director's Cut' - some re-recorded songs from their back catalogue they feel they didn't get right the first time. Here's one of their previous re-recordings - what a beaut!

@KKJK27 Thank you. A lot of the songs I’ve liked so far are from this one, don’t know where this is in the order?
English

@vinnieblackwall Sorry to hear about all the darkness but I'm overjoyed to learn the album is - finally! - imminent and that there'll be a third Piper show in the meantime. The previous two were both outstanding.

@ScarredForLife2 My daughter reacted in a similar fashion during our Covid-era series marathon (though happily held in her glee when I interviewed Matthew at a local fleapit last year following an Earthshock screening).
English

@misterdv Yes, but I don't think I ever listened to it... Isobel was my least favourite element of B&S in their early years (don't tell her!) but I have heard a few more appealing things she's done since and this may well have been one of them, had I ever got round to it.
English

@___sneeuw @suedeHQ Every Monday Morning Comes and Young Men feel massively undervalued, to me. I'd definitely have switched out a couple of the lesser Coming Up tunes for that pair of monsters (see also Europe Is Our Playground, The Sound of the Streets and This Time).
English

With Sci-Fi Lullabies Vol. 2 releasing this #RecordStoreDay, what’s your favourite track from Vol. 1?

@JoanPassey I managed to winkle a quiet reference to a further Cornish volume out of Jonny Davison via an Autumnal Festival online query. I wondered if it was another of yours.
English

@DiplomatWelsh @josh_snares That's a compelling argument when you're talking about creating a giant alien squid or a cybernetic sea monster, but for a programme that had often shot scenes on location in real caves or on reasonably convincing tunnel sets, this approach was always going to stand out.
English

@BL_Publishing I think I need to renew my subscription sharpish - luckily, my birthday is this month. Queens of the Abyss is one of the very best in the range, so I was delighted when this twisted sister was announced. It's always exciting to see a line-up as unfamiliar as this one, too.
English

@Tigfore "I rather enjoyed that!"
I was a decade shy of being born when Barbara and Ian were onboard the Tardis, but they'll always be my favourite companions.
English

@misterdv David Warner should have been The Doctor - at least John Hurt got to be fleetingly.

@ChrisDBroughton Never knew about this.
God, he was so good. Second only to John Hurt as my all time favourite actor.

@Garryiham @ScarredForLife2 "Jolt of horror" is the exact phrase I've used in the past to describe my reaction when I saw this at the cinema. I was 12 years old and felt for a moment like my heart had stopped.
English

@ScarredForLife2 Saw this as wee boy in the cinema, was like a sudden jolt of horror. Was lucky enough to meet Annie Ross a couple of times years later, a friend of a friend. Didn’t tell her she scarred me for life, though.
English

@NatalieKelda I frequently say "Have a gander" and I'm from Lincolnshire. We share a border, but still!
