If you don't mind a (maybe) short thread on my last day with @GovSisolak. A decade ago this month, I graduated journalism school. If you had told me then that 10 years later, I would be wrapping up almost 3 years as comms director for the Nevada Gov, I would have scoffed.

@PhilKlay I was very moved by this collection of stories. Made my book group read it.

Huh. Apparently my first book angered someone so much they got it pulled from a school library.

Just heard that John Ascuaga has died. A legendary figure in Sparks/Nevada gaming, entertainment and dining and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. #rip

Annnnnnd just like that, I am done with my three one-credit summer courses at UNLV. All that stands between me and graduation is finishing my capstone by the end of the summer. Now, a nap.

@neiltyson Just finished “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.” I won’t pretend that I totally understood it, but that last chapter was very moving. Great book.

I didn’t know what to expect last fall when I accepted a temporary assignment with the Governor’s Office. What I found was another family. Truly wonderful people. Thanks for everything.

I’ve been challenged a whole lot the last year - in ways I couldn’t imagine. I’ve also grown a whole lot more than I thought I could. Hope is on the horizon. Here we come.

I sat with @GovSisolak today while he spoke to some reporters about the last year - one of the hardest years for our great State. I am really proud to work for a Gov - & with a whole State team - who show up every day focused on helping Nevadans even when it’s tremendously hard.
