I’m glad it works in that environment. Would probably work in many other environments as well. Police are different though. They give ticket to people. They allowed to use force including deadly force and often take away people’s liberty. When they make honest mistakes they’re dragged through the mud and when one commits an illegal act, the whole profession is vilified. It’s never easy!

Thanks Rachel. I believe that regardless of the body overseeing the investigation, the actual investigators have to be experienced. This is too serious an issue to have inexperienced investigators showing up at their first death case when it happens to be a police use of fatal force case.

@ChrisLewisLLS Ha :) Do you think a civilian task force (assembled intentionally w credentialed people) could possibly undertake a process like that if they didn’t work inside a police service? Is working within policing a pre-requisite for conducting quality investigations, in your view?
