@philatrail 2/3rds the cost of electrifying the entire east Coast mainline in the late 80s

NR has released a cost estimate for Stalybridge-Diggle Transpennine Route Upgrade of £225 million. Just over 7 miles but 10 listed structures. Bill has £109m for electricals (including OLE), £67m for tunnels, bridges and civils, £18m for buildings including new Moseley station.

Plenty going on at Huddersfield this morning as work continues following installation of two bridge decks at far end of station. There’s one week left of a four-week blockade.

@philatrail @Tarka_Man Hi Philip .My point is in 1984 the roof was longer at the Leeds end . It was also longer at the Manchester at a point in the past At some point in the mid 1980s at the Leeds end a huge section of roof just vanished and was never replaced . How could that happen if it's listed

@ChrisMSmith_ @Tarka_Man Yes it is listed. NR went through all the proper consent procedures to obtain permission for the changes it’s making at Huddersfield.

From the moment I walked in the door, Hoggy was one of the very first players I talked to. I was already aware of his professionalism and leadership qualities, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the sheer devotion he has to the club and supporters. When I think of the ideal representative of the entire organization and what it strives to be, I think of Jonathan Hogg. He will forever be a legend, forever be ingrained in the hearts and minds of all Town supporters. Personally, I cannot thank him enough for his service and commitment. Once a terrier- ALWAYS a Terrier……. Good luck Hoggy!

@IanWhiteNews When I found out she was doing a outside broadcast in huddersfield for radio Leeds many years ago I went along to meet her and she was a really nice and genuine person . Loved her radio Leeds show and on eastenders and on angels .

What a huge response there has been to the news our friend Kathryn Apanowicz has died aged 64. Thank you for all the kind comments. Kathryn was full of fun and positivity and a joy to spend time with. Always a hoot! She will be greatly missed.

I went to See the Paul Heaton show featuring Rianne Downey at Leeds Arena on Saturday . Just one of the best nights at a concert that I can remember . Loved every minute of it . Those songs capture the memories from so many parts of my life . Roll on Manchester
