Today, I’m proud to lead the S.C. House floor debate on H.3309, the South Carolina Energy Security Act. As Chairman of the Public Utilities Subcommittee, I have led this bill through the subcommittee and committee process.
For too long, South Carolina has been on the brink of an energy crisis. With an aging power grid and one of the fastest-growing populations in the nation, the time to act is now. If we don’t take action, we risk facing the same energy challenges as California—rolling blackouts, skyrocketing costs, and unreliable power.
This bill is a vital step toward securing South Carolina’s energy future. It aligns with the Trump administration’s vision to unleash America’s full energy potential, cutting through the bureaucratic barriers that extremists use to block progress. By streamlining the approval process for new energy projects, we can lower costs and ensure that reliable, affordable power is available to every South Carolinian.
Looking ahead 20 years, I want our children to turn on the lights or adjust the thermostat without worrying about whether the power will be there. We must build a strong, stable energy future now.

This is such a bizarre hill to lose so many supporters over. If you are going to attack our former Chief Justice, at least have the balls to say her name: Chief Justice Jean Toal, perhaps the most respected and learned SC jurist in the past 50 years. And for what? The answer…

South Carolina’s courts are being exploited by lawsuit abuse, costing families and businesses billions. Our judicial system should serve justice – not trial lawyers looking for a payday. It’s time to clean up our courts, hold judges accountable, and restore fairness!

@MicahCaskey Makes one wonder if he is talking, what he is saying and who is talking about?🤔

If charges come, it’ll be almost impossible to believe SC Freedom Caucus members didn’t suspect any of this from their founder and chosen leader—even for their most well-intentioned members.
They require members to apply and then demand lockstep fealty, so should be interesting.
