A special night with my friends at the Sellersville Volunteer Fire Department’s annual awards banquet, celebrating a remarkable group of men and women! From 20 years to an incredible 65, the milestones recognized reflect something deeper than longevity—they reflect loyalty, sacrifice, and a lifelong willingness to answer the call. Congratulations to Greg Swierzewski, Thomas Louden, Tim Kelly, Joe McDonald, Allen Filburn, Neil Fosbenner, James Hull, Donald Wilson, Dave Wilson, and John Shelly on these truly amazing milestones. Congratulations as well to Scott Seifert, Citizen of the Year, and to Elizabeth Grigg, recipient of the Malvin H. Blackwell Distinguished Service Award—both so deserving, and emblematic of the service-minded spirit that keeps this department strong. At a time when volunteer fire companies across our county are facing a steady decline in membership and need new volunteers more than ever, nights like this are also an important reminder: these departments do not sustain themselves. They endure because brave neighbors step forward. Thank you to President Megan Pfaff, Chief Doug Wilhelm, and every member of the Sellersville Volunteer Fire Department for all you do. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, I’ll always fight to ensure our fire departments have the support, resources, and respect they need and deserve.
