Dear Joe, first of all, thank you for your service to this nation as a Green Beret. Secondly, you are welcome to your opinion, but it is not based on reality. You indicate that President Trump agreed to undertake this intervention to stop crimes against humanity in Iran based on pressure from Israel. Sir, you're wrong. For the last 47 years, the Iranian people have been taken hostage by a thuggish regime with zero regard for human life, especially Americans. They killed, maimed, and disfigured many American soldiers, and the world stood idly by. Your statement says that President Trump was deceived by an "echo chamber," falsely indicating Iran as an imminent threat to the US. You're right, it was not Iran, it was and is the Islamic regime occupying Iran. You must be choosing to turn a blind eye toward the massive success of the military intervention. The Islamic regime's bosses are falling faster than leaves, and the Iranian people are expressing their gratitude EVERY DAY. I encourage you to contact me so I can show you the evidence that Iranians inside the country are begging President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu to stay the course and get rid of the mullah regime. It appears that the people stuck in an echo chamber are you and the folks you hang out with. After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.
