@DylanIsADragon Everyone wanted Pregnon at 33, he went 88... But are complaining about reaches. Maybe they had incorrect draft boards. I see the vision with every pick. Maybe they flop, but the negativity is crazy. We got some intriguing players. Media experts influence opinions too much...

@zackiejoe @SFSportsAndTech It is funny how people think "Reaching" is a draft process... It is not. They clearly targeting different types of players than in years past. Everyone is focused on where mock drafts had players going... Instead of the qualities and skills of the players they drafted.

@Chris_BeamTeam @SFSportsAndTech Ah, so they continued to massively reach on players because they are “athletes”...ha, ok.🤷🏻 At the end of the day, a FO that has struggled with the concept of value on the 1st 2 days of the draft continued to do so. That’s the same process.

Clearly Kyle and John highly value the RAS score or their own version of it when it comes to the draft. I'm a big fan as well which is why I'm not as down as others on this draft. No doubt there have been some misses in the past which I'm confident they've learned from but only time will tell #FTTB

@zackiejoe @SFSportsAndTech Well... They do not typically draft high RAS guys. I think this shows a change in philosophy. Maybe this will lead to more succes. To me they did not repeat the same process.

@CoachBroker Dee Winters is in a contract year. The 49ers have a lot of linebackers. I don't think Dee Winters would enjoy getting benched in a contract year. This gives Nick Martin an opportunity. The 49ers did the right thing... Hope the young LBs develop. Duggar is a promising project

@NinerNick_22 1. I think Williams looked solid before the injury. Seems like a great leader and solid size. Great defending run. 2. Upton Stout looks like a long term starter at nickel. 3. Alfred/West are my 2 faves... I have high expectations for both, especially Collins.

One year later, how do you feel about this draft class as a whole? I see, at minimum, three legit rotational d-lineman (Williams could be much more than that), and a starting nickel back. That's a decent haul. I hope Martin gets a shot. I think Watkins and James are cooked.

@MuslimsFkGoats @Chase_Senior I personally think Stribling can play his position. He is good on short routes, can block and has good YAC ability. We needed a tough WR with speed. He could bust, but I see potential in the pick.

@timkawakami I also see a change in philosophy. Normally we reach for scheme fits who do not have great athleticism, and usually have low upside. This year we went with scheme fits with top notch athleticism. Comparing the RAS of this class to past classes shows a huge change. More upside...

You guys scream that I'm defending the 49ers' draft philosophy. All I'm doing is saying this is what they do. Do I agree with the philosophy 100% or even 80%? Nope. I'd draft an OT pretty high almost every year. But they've produced some very good teams. & you scream even more.

@49erCarlos @JosephMontanana JSN, Kupp, Michael Wilson, Nico Collins, Jameson Williams, Alec Peirce... Tons of examples of WR who were broke out in year 3. Also plenty of WR who struggled to stay healthy and then figure it out. Injuries are hard to predict. I think Pearsall is talented.

@JosephMontanana @49erCarlos I also think in 2022, 2023, 2024... They drafted different types of players. The 49ers have not targeted scheme fits who also have height/weight/speed... They just targeted scheme fits. I hope them targeting a combination of the 2... leads to improved results this year.

@JosephMontanana @49erCarlos Mustapha was coming off an injury. Pearsall was playing through injury. Renardo Green showed improvement. Puni declined, I agree. Hopefully they bounce back after sophomore slumps. Happened to guys like BTJ too...

@49erCarlos @JosephMontanana I agree, but guys like Cooper Kupp had 3rd year breakouts after injuries... Fairly common for WR. Maybe Pearsall will always be hurt... I personally have hope, but I think its a fair criticism by you. I also think he has shown why the 49ers liked him when he has been on the field

@Nick5p1a @Chase_Senior Yeah, and the consensus had him as a 1st round pick, thats my point. 49ers fans wanted Pregnon at 33, if we drafted him there... Fans would have been happy. He ended up going 88. We have no idea how other teams evaluated players we liked. Stribling could have gone anywhere...

Not only is John Lynch a god awful drafter, he's also petty. There's only one spot where Brandon Aiyuk is playing next season. He's a Commander. Hurry up and release him.

49ers GM John Lynch to reporters today about their plans for Brandon Aiyuk: “We're available. Give us a call. And like I said earlier, I think it's the prudent thing to do. He’s an extremely talented player. He's been an extremely effective player in our league; situation didn't work itself out here. That's not to say that it can't be rekindled somewhere else. And we'd be happy to do something with anyone if the opportunity presented itself.”

@Nick5p1a @Chase_Senior I disagree... I think player like Stribling would have gone off the board earlier than consensus (if we didn't pick them). Just because someone calls them a reach, doesn't mean they were. Same consensus had Sanders as a 1st round pick last year. Reaching, is a matter of opinion.

@jgrover1533 Everyone wanted more speed on the roster. Now everyone is complaining. Going after elite athletes and developing them worked for Seattle. They developed Emmanwori and Riq Woolen... Hope we can mold these guys to fit our scheme. Great traits.
