On Amad and Evanilson penalty situations. Both might or might not have been penalties. They are subjective, in the grey zone. So on-field decision stands. VAR's role is not, and ever has been, to create consistency of decision making. Each is judged individually. #BOUMUN

@Malachians It is a hard job and can understand why on field they make mistakes. How VAR can look at that on Amad and decide not enough contact was made is beyond me. Then after deciding that they decide enough contact is made by Maguire?

Stuart Atwell was absolutely petrified of the media response if he gave Utd a 2nd penalty and VAR wanted to support their colleague on the field rather than give the right decision. The arrogance of officials is something that needs addressing, I understand it’s a hard job but they’re deciding games every week more than the two teams on the field.

The game reminiscent of the reverse fixture, with #mufc throwing away leads. Midfield an issue when Bournemouth were behind, particularly with Casemiro booked. Not a terrible point for United, given Bournemouth's unbeaten run and quality. Cunha terrific to watch.

No one who hasn't been a goalkeeper can understand how difficult it is to play in this position. Keep your head up and you will go again.

Amorim ball operated with two 10s behind the striker and Bruno joining them high. That meant creativity in the final third wasn’t coming from one player it was coming from multiple angles. Bruno, Mbeumo, Cunha, Amad drifting inside, Dorgu overlapping, Sesko occupying defenders. When you pin a defence with that many threats, goals can come from anywhere. That’s why the team was scoring more and creating better quality chances. The build-up was structured, movements were coordinated, and we were constantly forcing set pieces because defences were under pressure. I’m not pretending Amorim’s system was perfect. It had flaws. But its biggest strength was the final third structure players knew where the next option was before receiving the ball. Carrick ball is the opposite. There is no clear attacking structure. No defined patterns in the final third. It often looks like 11 players running basic drills and hoping individual brilliance saves the day. And that’s the biggest problem with it long term. Football at the top level cannot rely on improvisation. Players need automatisms. They need to know: •where their teammate will be •where the next pass is •who attacks the space •who arrives late in the box That’s what systems do. They drill behaviours until they become instinct. Without that structure, sharpness drops, timing disappears, and attacks become predictable. That’s why Carrick ball feels ….. showmore

Manchester United had the opportunity to go three points clear of Villa in 4th, six points clear of Liverpool & Chelsea in 5th & 6th & be in the driving seat for Champions League. Completely bottled it. A point would've been barely acceptable but a loss in this manner? Dreadful.
