This is not a climate huddle, this is a game of pass the message 🤣 I've been in charge of energizers the last 3 days and everyday I get asked, "Are there more games tomorrow?!" Just because climate change is such a serious problem, doesn't mean we can't have fun too 😄

The Indonesian Capital City Authority & the United Nations Development Program (#UNDP) signed an MoU to promote inclusive, equitable, productive & sustainable development practices for the new Indonesian capital #IKN in Borneo. bisnis.tempo.co/read/1706041/o… A lot of nice words there.

Two miners died in a zinc mine near Cloncurry, adding to 53 deaths that had already occurred in Queensland mines since the year 2000. According to mine safety experts, every one of those deaths was preventable. #abc730

The next Times environmental supplement will be about preparing young people for climate change and net zero. I'm interested in featuring ideas to adapt the curriculum, train young people for green jobs, help them deal with climate anxiety, and so on.Who should I be speaking to?

I am gutted to be missing the #britishjournalismawards tonight (but excited to be on the way to see family in NZ for the first time in 4 years) Good luck to all the others shortlisted for energy and environment coverage!

For all the bleating by the war profiteering gas cartel lobbyists and shrills, this is the real story, their greed that is gouging of Australian industry & consumers. Good job ⁦@Bowenchris⁩ ⁦@MadeleineMHKing⁩ ✅ afr.com/business/energ…

That means Australia's current coal and gas exports are causing up to $324 billion damage annually (1.2 billion tonnes emissions), with a pipeline of projects supported by our state and federal Governments that would cause an additional $459 billion damage (1.7 billion tonnes).
Roderick Campbell@R_o_d_C

What is the cost of the damage of emitting a tonne of CO2? (AKA social cost of carbon) The USA EPA's new central estimate is US$190 = AUD$270. 1/ eenews.net/articles/epa-f…

This is ludicrous @Bowenchris. You want taxpayers to compensate coal miners who mostly pay zero corporate tax + are making billions in warprofits from our public resources? Their right to mine should be to service us first & export the surplus. smh.com.au/politics/feder… by @niltiac

Has anyone got an informed perspective on whether the new #cop15 targets will be any more successful than the #Aichi targets? Why or why not?

It’s crazy the #NT is so far behind on this scorecard. Sure, it’s dusty...but it must have the best solar radiation-to-land ratio in the world, and some of the worst electricity access rates in Australia What’s going on?

@rjkarunungan And then the best part - do you need to download that and add it as a massive file share that half of your audience can’t download? Nup 🤣
