The City of Windhoek has confirmed the discovery of the body of an unidentified male at the Gammams Water Care Works facility on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
According to preliminary reports, a security officer discovered the body inside one of the water treatment machines during a routine patrol and immediately alerted senior officials and the Namibian Police.
The scene has been secured, and investigations are currently underway.
The City has extended its condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and has urged the public to allow the police investigation to proceed without interference.

A 24-year-old woman was denied bail in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court this morning after facing two counts of attempted murder. Theresia Johannes is accused of throwing her 9-month-old twin children, a boy and a girl, into a water pond at Omutundungu Village in the Omusati Region on Saturday with the intention to kill them. The twins were rescued by a cattle herder who witnessed the incident and intervened. During her first court appearance, Johannes broke down in tears and appeared unwell. She told the court she would conduct her own defense. The case was postponed to the 3rd of September for further investigation. I've spent time with psych counselors in Windhoek, dealing with high networth women in their late 30s and 40s, successful career women. Suffering from sever depression and anxiety because they are struggling to conceive. Don't listen to older women trying to cope online.
