@NeverTr74704466 @proamericapol That’s not true. Coaching at the high school level (again, top programs) is now very high level with full time staff and coaches who learn and apply systems from top College programs. I’ve coached HS for 12 years and what you imply was true 15-20 years ago, not now.

@Christi05051165 @proamericapol Yeah, because they have a physical advantage to overcome the WNBA team's more sophisticated play. Average high school teams don't have that. They'd be at a disadvantage in every phase of the game: physical, mental, and experience.

This is why I've never watched a WNBA game in my life and I never will. I appreciate what Caitlin Clark is doing and the political angle, but any average boy's high school team would beat these ladies by 35 points.

@NeverTr74704466 @proamericapol For example AZ compass prep has players that are 6'11", 6'10", 6'10", 6'9", 6'7", 6'5" and the smallest one is 6'3". You can also look at the examples I posted earlier. And it's not just about size. These kids are significantly faster, jump higher and are stronger than WNBA

@proamericapol No high school player under 6'7" is stopping Brittany Griner, and anyone who wants to guard Caitlin Clark is gonna have to be six feet tall minimum. High school teams mostly feature players under six feet except at the center position and maybe power forward.

@NeverTr74704466 @proamericapol That might be true for bumf*ck programs, but if you look at the top HS programs, they all have AT LEAST 5 players 6'7" or more with plenty in the 6'10" - 7'1" range. In the top 25 they can pretty much all field a starting five with all player being 6'6" - 7'0".

@NeverTr74704466 @proamericapol Plenty of high school teams (the good programs) have tons of size. Bella Vista has 3 players of 6'9" or more (6'9", 6'10", 7'1") and four others are 6'6" or 6'7". Montverde high school has 5 players 6'8" or more and 2 others are 6'7". These teams would DESTROY any WNBA team

@proamericapol That compilation has some brutal plays, no doubt, but most WNBA play is on a level well above high school. There's also the size difference to consider. At the college level, WNBA players would face taller centers but at high school level the WNBA players would be taller.

I just don’t think the Habs rebuild rests on whether a trade happens today. Get good value for the pick on the trade market if it’s out there. If not, whatever. Draft with it.

Genuinely wonder what this “borderline insane” offer for Kirill Marchenko included. Columbus doesn’t seem interested in a futures-only package, so it likely would’ve included roster players in addition to someone like Zharovsky and draft picks.

Frank Seravalli on Frankly Hockey says Montreal recently made a "MASSIVE" offer for Kirill Marchenko. "The Canadiens might look borderline insane for putting this deal on the table." #CBJ

@BullBoss5 It's mostly about the cost of electricity. The countries with the lowest electricity cost pay around 0.01 - 0.12$ per KW/h, while the most expensive pay up to 0.47$ (4-40 times more)

I think Americans misunderstand why AC is less common in Europe. For a lot of Europeans, comfort is not always about controlling everything artificially. It is also about opening the windows, letting air circulate, using shutters, living with the seasons, and keeping life simple. It is not necessarily backward. It is just a different relationship with comfort, energy, and everyday life.

@lmkifiwin Or they proved that athletes at the Olympics are also doping but either know when to stop, how to mask or which undetectable substances they take to avoid testing positive

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT JUST HAPPENED AT THE ENHANCED GAMES.. Peter Thiel and Donald Trump Jr. spent millions to create a steroid Olympics. They promised to "redefine human limits" and put up $25M in prize money. After 5 hours in Las Vegas, here’s the scoreboard: - 1 world record (not recognized by anyone) - Thor Björnsson failed his 515kg deadlift (managed only 475kg) - olympic sprinter Fred Kerley missed the 100m WR by 0.4s - without even taking drugs - the only "record" came from a Greek swimmer who finished 5th at Paris 2024. He wore a supersuit banned since 2009 and beat the clean record by just 0.07s the whole pitch was that drugs would shatter the limits of clean sport. instead they proved the gap between juiced and clean is now 7 hundredths of a second - in a suit banned 17 years ago. the only thing they actually proved was how good the clean athletes already are. You think the Enhanced Games exposed anything or just embarrassed themselves?
Polymarket@Polymarket

JUST IN: The only world record broken at the Enhanced Games will reportedly not be recognized by official authorities.

@thegoat2112 The problem with that argument is that Vegas is a city where everybody wants to play, like Tampa, and the Panthers. Which makes it easier to stay on top as you can get top free agents and don't have to do a typical rebuild through the draft

when vegas ages out, and bottoms out, and they will, I wonder if that fanbase will stomach a rebuild, or will they eventually get moved to a better hockey city...
