We were to be in Deuteronomy 8 📖 for #BibleForBeginners today, however, I am taking a break for a few days as my husband is critically ill in ICU at the moment. If you are a praying person, please say a prayer for us! 🙏 Thank you. 💓

April 30 Bible: Jos 11-12, Psa 119:89-176, Mar 12.
Mar 12: When we trade in the currency of the Kingdom, God increases the Kingdom to us. When the children came out of Egypt, their clothes did not wear out for 40 years and God provided water from the rock in the midst of the desert. They did not need the currency of the kingdom of man. When Elijah was delivering the word of YHVH to Ahab, God sent a raven with meat and bread for him twice a day for three years. He did not need the currency of the kingdom of man. And when 5000 men, besides women and children, needed to eat after hearing Jesus teach all day, the disciples fed them with five loaves of bread and two fish. They did not need the currency of the kingdom of man. "Do not fear, little flock, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom" (Luk 12:32).

April 29 Bible 📖 Jos 9-10, Psa 119:1-88, Mar 11.
Jos 10: In every place in the Hebrew Testament, where judgment has fallen upon the disobedient, Scripture, by its Teaching Tools, paints the picture of the Gospel of grace. And this is the picture: those who repent and who align themselves with YHVH, the God of Israel, will be saved. Rahab and Gibeon are the Canaanite examples. Those who instead stiffen the neck and make war upon the Messiah to overthrow His rule, will be judged. The five kings of the Amorites are the Canaanite examples. Life is the end of those who come to Him; death is the end of those who reject Him, for they have rejected the only Fountain of Living Water, and have elected to have the judgment for their sinfulness come upon their own head instead of upon the Lamb of God.

Deuteronomy 7 #BibleForBeginners.
Moses continues his second speech (Deu 5–26), still unpacking what it means to live out the First Commandment (Deu 6:4-11:25): “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Chapter 7 shows us the why behind the commands—and the beautiful, reciprocal relationship at the heart of it all.
The chapter 7 Hebrew Paragraphs:
7:1-11 {p} YHVH has set His love upon Israel
7:12-16 {s} Obedience to YHVH’s commandments = life and blessing for Israel
7:17-26 {p} Disobedience to YHVH = death and destruction for the nations
These paragraphs complete the next two Strong Themes of Scripture:
First Strong Theme Deu 6:4–7:11 {sx4 + p}
6:4-9 {s} Hear YHVH’s commandments
6:10-15 {s} Pay careful heed to YHVH’s commandments
6:16-19 {s} Observe YHVH’s commandments
6:20-25 {s} Teach YHVH’s commandments to your children
7:1-11 {p} YHVH has set His love upon Israel
Because YHVH has set His love upon His people with great love, He has given them His commandments to open blessing over them for peace, health, prosperity, and happiness on this side of heaven.
Second Strong Theme (Deu 7:12-26 {s + p})
7:12-16 {s} Obedience to YHVH’s commandments = life and blessing for Israel
7:17-26 {p} Disobedience to YHVH = death and destruction for the nations
Because His people love YHVH, they keep His commandments.
This is not new with the New Testament.
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (Joh 14:15)
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 Joh 5:3)
Why This Matters. Obedience is YHVH’s love language! But YHVH does not desire automatons whose obedience is a rote obedience, but rather born from a heart of love for YHVH, as His heart is a heart of love for His people—a reciprocal relationship of love. Moses is teaching us how to Worship YHVH alone, walking in the First Commandment.
